The Committee on Education Ministry works with the pastor in overseeing “the promotion and conduct of the Sunday Church School and other education ministries within the congregation.” The role of the committee includes appointing the Sunday School Superintendents, scheduling teachers and providing materials for the Sunday School classes, working with the pastor to arrange catechetical classes, and conducting the annual Vacation Church School. The committee is also asked to encourage the use of materials, including periodicals and family devotional materials published or approved by the ELCA, and to bring the call of the ministry and other full-time church vocations to the attention of the youth of the congregation. Five students are currently in the Confirmation Class preparing to be received as confirmed members of the church in 2010.
